Everton defender Mathew Pennington has flown to Austria on Tuesday to complete a loan move to Championship side Leeds Utd, according to Liverpool Echo.

The 22-year-old has previously spent loan spells with clubs such as Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City and Walsall.

He managed to make three league appearances for Ronald Koeman's side last season, but the Dutch manager is keen for him to gain first-team elsewhere.

Leeds beat off competition from Hull City to secure the signing of Pennington.
