Everton have joined Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan in the race to sign Newcastle United's French midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to the Daily Mail.

It is understood that talks between the two English clubs began on Monday, with Everton discussing the Magpies £35m evaluation for the midfielder.

Talks between Sissoko's representatives and Juventus officials have already taken place in Milan, with similardiscussionslined up with officials from Inter.

Newcastle are reportedly growing tired of the speculation surrounding Sissoko, who has missed the Championship side's opening two league games. The Magpies are keen to play Sissoko in their Championship match against Reading on Wednesday.

Manager Rafa Benitez has not been enthralled by the 27-year-old courting interest via the media and said: "I told Moussa we know how things work in modern football and that is not the right way.

"I said 'you are a professional, you are our player, and I rate you very highly. I like you as a person but keep working hard and let other people do their business.'

"If someone thinks they can wait until the end of August it will be easier, I can guarantee it will be more difficult then.

"If someone wants him they need to come in now with the right offer and we'll study it."

Sissoko would solve a lot of problems for Everton should he sign for the Merseyside club, with Mohammed Besic injured and the failure to secure Axel Witsel from Zenit St. Petersburg, although they have completed the signing of former Crystal Palace midfielder Yannick Bolasie.
