Everybody will witness it if you are a good player - Jordan Ayew reveals advise by his dad

Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew has revealed advice his father, Abedi Ayew Pele, gave to him on becoming a successful footballer.

The Crystal Palace forward was born into a successful football family.

Ayew’s father, Abedi Pele, is a three-time African Footballer of the Year winner and also won the UEFA Champions League with Olympique Marseille.

Responding to being the son of such a football legend, Jordan said it doesn’t affect how he plays.

He, however, disclosed what his father told him about navigating the game, insisting proving himself has always been the goal.

According to him, his father told him that football doesn’t lie and that if he isn’t good enough, he will be exposed on the pitch.

“My dad always said: ‘The football doesn’t lie. If you are no good, everyone will see you are no good. You just need to prove people wrong on the pitch,” Ayew told Crystal Palace’s media.

“That is what I have been trying to do since I was a child, to show I have my own qualities and I can be an important person to the country and the community.” Having started his career at Marseille, the same club where his father achieved iconic status, Ayew has now made his mark in the Premier League.

He holds the record for the most goals by a Ghanaian player in Premier League history, with an impressive tally of 33 goals.

Last season, Ayew reached a significant milestone, scoring his 100th career goal. Among those goals, 19 have been for the Ghana national team. Since his debut in 2010, he has displayed consistency, making over 90 appearances for his country.
