Former Arsenal forward Kevin Campbell believes the signing of Paris Saint Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to partner Ghanaian star Thomas Partey would be a good business for the club in the January transfer window.
According to him, the former Liverpool star would be a great addition to the Arsenal setup considering his qualities and experience in the Premier League.
Footballghana.com understands the Dutch international is open to a return to the Premier League and a difficult start at PSG with the Gunners being a potential destination.
He has made 21 appearances across all competitions for the Paris outfit.
However, according to Campbell, Wijnaldum partnering Partey would be a good business for the London-based club.
Asked if Wijnaldum signing would be significant for the Gunners, Campbell said,
“Yes, I like this a lot” he told Football Insider
“I think he’d be the perfect signing for many reasons.
“He went about his business in such a quiet way at Liverpool, I really admired it. He was an unsung hero when you think about it.
“A player who is a work horse, who can press the ball and who knows where the back of the net is. He knows the Premier League and would hit the ground running in January. He’d be a great addition in the midfield.
“I mean, talk about a partner for Thomas Partey! I just think it would be really good business on Arsenal’s part.” He said.
Wijnaldum has been in and out of the PSG side this season.
He has made 21 appearances across all competitions.
