Ex-Arsenal Star Abou Diaby Hit With Yet Another Tragic Injury Setback After Ankle Surgery

Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has suffered yet another cruel setback in his injury plagued career after surgery on his ankle means the Frenchman will be sidelined for approximately the next four months.

Diaby joined Marseille in July2015after being released by the Gunners that summer, and the French clubconfirmedon Monday afternoon that the 30-year-old had the operation lastThursdayin a bidto bring an end to 'persistent pain' he was feeling.

Diaby, who looked a real capture and another Arsene Wenger gemwhen he arrivedin north London from Auxerre in January 2006,played only twice in his final two seasons with Arsenal and just four appearances for Marseille in 2015/16.

Despite spending nine and a half years as an Arsenal player, Diaby played fewer than 200 total times for the Gunners, peaking between 2008 and 2010 when he managed 76 games.
