Recently, Arsenal have suffered damaging defeats away from the Emirates Stadium, including a 3-1 league defeat to Chelsea and a 5-1 thumping by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Despite Liverpool losing to Leicester City on Monday night, the Reds do have a recent 2-0 victory over North London's other club, Tottenham, from which to take confidence.

Speaking ahead of the clash the former England striker said: "Arsenal haven't been scintillatingin a while.

"You'd have to say Liverpool at home, this is the game that the way arsenal have played in their previous two games, Liverpool will fancy it even if Leicester did give them a doing."

The game is certainly a must-win affair for both teams if either want to finish with aplace in the top four of the Premier League at the end of the season.

Arsenal currently sit in 4th place with 50 points, while Liverpool sit one place below on 49 points. A win for either team would deal a significant blow to the confidence of the other team.
