Ex-Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has launched a scathing attack on his former employersfor the way they treated him before his move to Italian giants Juventus.

This comes as the Turin side are set to take on Porto in the Champions League Round of 16. The Juventus man branded the current La Liga Champions as disrespectful due to their negligence of offering him a new contract.

Dani Alves: "I joined Juventus because I wanted to compete at a high level with a historic & winning club, because I'm a winner."

During his eight season spell at Barca, Alves won every trophy imaginable, with the total coming to a staggering 23. The Brazilian international left for the Serie A on a free transfer last June and is currently at the top the Italian Leaguewith a point gap.

In a recent interview with Spanish publication ABC, viaYahoo Sport,Alves said:"I like being loved and if they do not want me, I'm leaving, during my last three seasons I always heard that Alves was leaving but the management never said anything to me."

He further added: "They were very false and ungrateful. They did not respect me. They only offered me a renewal because of the FIFA transfer ban."

Dani Alves is a hero. He would've stayed had the club treated him well. What stops others from doing the same and leaving? That's worrying.

The lack of respect from the Barcelona board was enough to tip Alves over the edge as he further mentions that: "The people who run Barcelona have no idea how to treat their players."

In the wake of the criticism from Dani Alves, the Barcelona board have come under intense scrutiny as the additions they've made since the ban was lifted haven'tperformed to Barcelona's high standards.

Andre Gomes has receivedmost of theonslaughts from fans and press after the humiliating defeat from PSG last week.

Luis Enrique and his side were also booed after their above average performanceagainst Leganes at the Camp Nou with increasing pressure continuing to mount on the manager and his side.
