Ghana International, Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially retired from professional football.
The former Black Stars midfielder is hanging his boots after playing for as many as 15 different clubs.
The versatile player who excelled as an attacker has retired at the age of 36.
The veteran of the game announced his retirement on Friday, August 11.
The last club he played for is German outfit Hertha Berlin.
KP Boateng returned to his boyhood club in 2021 and managed to help the club avoid relegation that season.
On and off the pitch he has been helping the club as a player-coach and a mentor for the young ones as well.
Following months of consideration and consultations, KP Boateng has decided that the time to retire is now.
Some of the clubs he played for during his extraordinary journey as a professional footballer include Dortmund, AC Milan, Barcelona, Tottenham, Schalke, Genoa, and more.
He had a short but impactful stint with the Black Stars and was part of the Ghana squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
