Abdul Jalilu, the former captain and defender of Dreams FC, has admitted that he had little knowledge about Rwandan football and his new club, Mukura Sport Victory FC, before signing a two-year contract with them.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian defender played a key role in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season, where his former team, Dreams FC, secured a respectable ninth position in the 18-team league competition.

"I am very happy to be here. I don’t have much to say, we just agreed on the details and I will come back to them next time. I don’t know anything about Mukura and Rwandan football” he said as reported by IGIHE Sports.

Abdul Jalilu was a key player in Dreams FC's impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup, where the team reached the semifinals in their debut campaign. Despite a courageous effort, Dreams FC was defeated by Egyptian giants Zamalek.

Throughout the season, Abdul Jalilu featured in 27 league games, scoring one goal, and made 11 appearances in the Confederation Cup, where he also scored a goal.

Abdul Jalilu is expected to help strengthen the backline of Mukura Sport Victory FC next season.

Mukura Sport Victory FC ended the 2023/24 Rwandan Premier League season in 4th place with 47 points after 30 games.
