Former Everton defender Richard Dunne has urged Virgil van Dijk to reject a move to Liverpool.
Dunne says the Southampton centre-half would be better suited joining Chelsea.
He told talkSPORT: “If he has the opportunity to go to Chelsea, then they are the stronger of the two, so I think he should go there.
“He would suit playing three at the back as well. It's disappointing the way things have worked out for him over the summer and he is being forced to train alone, but over the next couple of weeks [you'd think] he will get his move."
Dunne added: “He has improved each time over the last few years, he was very good and has done really well at Southampton, so I think this is just the next step up for him and I think he is more than capable of making it."
