Former Ghana international Kofi Amponsah has indicated that he has no regret for being excluded from the Black Stars squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The defender played a part in the qualifiers to the 2006 World Cup which was hosted by Germany.

After the team booked its ticket to play at the tournament for the first time in their history, Kofi Amponsah was dropped from the final squad.

Speaking to Ashaiman TV, he has shared that he got worried at that time but after reflecting on it he has no regrets at all.

“What u win in a team is what you are remembered for. I'm always grateful to be part of the squad that qualified the country to her first-ever world cup in Germany. I got worried when I was omitted from the final squad to the showpiece but I said to myself, it’s one of those things in the game, I have to move on”, Kofi Amponsah said.

At the World Cup, the Black Stars of Ghana did well and advanced to the Round of 16 where they were booted out by Brazil.
