Former Ghana defender, Samuel Inkoom will begin training with Hearts of Oak today as he gears to move to the club.

The former FC Basel defender has been clubless after leaving Georgian side, Torpedo Kutaisi following the expiration of his contract last year.

And according to a report filed by Kumasi based Light FM, Inkoom will hold training with the Ghana Premier League champions.

Inkoom speaking to Starr FM in an interview last week said he would love to return to the Ghana Premier League despite offers from outside the shores of the country.

"When you are a free agent and done with your contract, a lot of clubs (not only Ghana) will ask if you can come and help the team," he said.

"I’m a professional footballer and I have an agent. There have been a lot of offers from Ghanaian clubs and clubs outside Ghana as well.

"At this point in time, I want to decide very well. I’m also talking to my family to help me make a decision as well so I would love to play in the Ghana Premier League,” he said.

He was linked to his former side, Asante Kotoko but is now on the verge of signing for the reigning Ghana Premier League champions as a free agent.

Inkoom featured for the Black Stars between 2008 and 2014 he made 44 appearances scoring 1 goal.
