Ibrahim Tanko, the former coach of Ghana's U-23 team and current head coach of Ghana Premier League club Accra Lions, led the Bissa community in Kumasi in their Eid-ul-Fitr prayers and celebrations today.

Eid-ul-Fitr, a significant Islamic holiday, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of dawn-to-sunset fasting for Muslims worldwide.

Tanko, a respected figure in Ghanaian football with nine international caps to his name, has a storied career both on and off the pitch. He has played for notable clubs such as King Faisal, Borussia Dortmund, and SC Freiburg.

Tanko also formerly held assistant coach positions at Urawa Reds, FC Köln and SC Freiburg II.

His leadership extended beyond the football field today as he guided the Bissa community in their religious observances in Kumasi.

Eid-ul-Fitr is one of two official holidays within Islam, the other being Eid-ul-Adha. The day is marked by special prayers, feasts, and acts of charity, embodying the spirit of unity, gratitude, and devotion.
