Hearts of Oak Board member, Vincent Sowah Odotei says former coach of the club, Samuel Boadu was not in support of the 2022 GHALCA top six tournament.

Boadu and the Phobians parted ways following a poor start to the season, having lost one and drawn two with the latest being the 1-1 stalemate against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium before the league was halted.

The 36-year-old led the Accra-based side to their first league title two seasons ago. He also won back-to-back MTN FA Cups, Super Cup and the 2021 President’s Cup during his time at the club.

"He (Samuel Boadu) said he will not play in the G6. We tried to convince him but he said no.

"We even adviced him to use the new players and other fringe players but he still declined from playing the G6," Sowah Odotei told Accra Based Hot FM.

Hearts of Oak have appointed David Ocloo as the club's assistant coach and is assisted by U-20 coach, Samuel Nii Noi.
