Former Kotoko forward Stephen Manu appears to be impressed with the performance of the club despite sharing the spoils with Heart of Lions on Ghana Premier League opening day.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw by Lions in an entertaining game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

After the game, Manu, who casted doubts about Kotoko’s readiness for the new season expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance against determined Lions.

“It wasn’t a bad game. Comparing Kotoko’s performance against Nsoatreman during preseason as against Lions, you could there have been changes in their play from defense, midfield and to attack. They are able to possess the game well but they only lack some firepower upfront”

“I have already asked the fans to lower their expectations for the team this season. The fans shouldn’t always expect win because the coach is now building the team. there are many young players in the team and will need time to adapt to the system, so the fans should have patience for the team”

Asante Kotoko will travel to face Bibiani Goldstars in the week 2 fixture of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
