Ex-Mourinho No2 Morais: Mourinho wants long-term Man Utd stay

Former assistant coach Jose Morais believes Jose Mourinho wants to stay long-term with Manchester United.

Mourinho has enjoyed a positive start to life at Manchester United, winning the Europa League and Carabao Cup in his first season.

Morais reckons Mourinho will surpass his time spent Chelsea the first time round at United because he is happy at the club.

"I see him doing always what he wants to do and if he wants to [continue past three seasons] he will," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"What I hear is that he is happy. Happiness is a kind of a state of mind that he's always in at the top. You have different levels of happiness.

"You can be very happy in terms of, 'I'm working here, the environment is good, results are fantastic'. And, at the same time, you feel happy because everything is good in the family. Everybody is OK, they're good, they feel good. You feel great.

"You don't have them close and this level of happiness, that closeness, is not at the top. But I believe he is happy in terms of living. He's happy."
