Atlético Madrid star Thomas Partey is in talks with the club over a contract extension, Footballghana.com can exclusively report.
Partey, whose contract expires in 2023 is hopeful his contract situation will be sorted “sooner rather than later”.
The 26-year-old is enjoying his best season in LaLiga with Los Rojiblancos and with his release clause set at just €50million (£43.5m), it is no surprise he is on the radar of several clubs.
Atletico Madrid are working on a new deal to tie down the player until 2026 and want to increase his clause to a more prohibitive €100m (£87m), according to reports in Spain.
The Ghanaian has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos as they lie 6th on the league table with 45 points after 27 matches played thus far.
Several clubs are also interested in signing him including Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG, Juventus, and Bayern Munich.
However, Man United are expected to pull out of the race as they eye move for his teammate Saul Niguez who has hinted he would announce a "new club" in three days' time.
