EXCLUSIVE: Black Stars defender Joseph Aidoo close to joining La Liga Side Celta Vigo after reaching agreement

Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo is close to joining Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo after agreeing to a bumper deal that will see him traveling to Spain after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to wrap up complete his transfer.

Celta Vigo expressed interest in the center-back at the end of the 2018/2019 season after he enjoyed a successful campaign with his Belgium side Genk. His impressive stats at the end of the season convinced Vigo he will be a good addition to stabilize their defense in the upcoming season.

The Sky Blue side finished 17th on the Spanish La Liga table after picking up a disappointing 41 points in 38 games. The unconvincing statistics narrowly saved them from relegation and has propelled them to strengthen their squad before they start next season’s campaign.

After successful negotiations between the Spanish club and Genk, the two parties have agreed for the transfer of the Ghanaian defender to enable him to play his football in the La Liga in the 2019/2020 season.

Footballghana.com can confirm that the transfer for the player will be one of the most profitable for Genk and the player. What that means is that both Celta Vigo and Joseph Aidoo are going to take home huge sums of money once the transfer is concluded.

Checks have revealed that Celta Vigo is going to pay a whopping $10 million to secure the signature of Joseph Aidoo.

Aidoo is currently on National assignment with the Black Stars of Ghana in Egypt and will fly to Spain to pen his signature to make the deal official once their campaign at this year’s AFCON is concluded.
