Contrary to earlier reports that the Black Stars and the Cranes of Uganda 2018 World Cup qualifier will be played in Tamale, footballghana.com can exclusively reveal, the game will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on October 7.

A member of the Black Stars management committee Winfred Osei had already confirmed the match was going to be staged in Tamale, but after touring the Tamale Stadium, assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has recommended the pitch is not fit to host the game.

What this means is that, the newly built Cape Coast Stadium which has already hosted some junior national teams will have the Black Stars use the facility the first time since it was commissioned by President John Dramani Mahama.

Ghana is looking forward to securing their fourth World Cup appearance.
