Chelsea losing interest in talented youngster Nico Williams; here is why

English Premier League side, Chelsea are reportedly set to pull out of the race to sign Spain forward Nico Williams.

The talented attacker who is of Ghanaian descent is a transfer target of a lot of top clubs in Europe.

This follows his outstanding performances for his club Athletic Bilbao and the Spain national team in the past year.

His displays caught the attention of Chelsea and Aston Villa who assigned scouts to monitor him.

However, as the season ends, sources have reported that both English Premier League clubs are losing interest in Nico Williams.

This is not related to the quality of the player but has everything to do with finances.

Although the forward has a release clause of €50m (£43m), a fee that both clubs can pay, the expected huge wage demands of the player are believed to be the problem.

The youngster is already on a €200,000-per-week and his camp will reportedly demand more if he moves.

For now, several other top clubs are said to be monitoring the player and could make a move for his signature in the summer transfer window.
