EXCLUSIVE: Celta Vigo enter race for Kevin-Prince Boateng

Published on: 30 January 2020

Spanish top flight side Celta Vigo have entered the race to sign Fiorentina forward Kevin-Prince Boateng ahead of deadline day, footballghana.com can confirm.

The La Liga side have shown interest to snap up the former AC Milan and Barcelona player who has scored just once in 14 outings for Fiorentina this season.

The 32 year old is currently struggling with a knee problem and is unlikely a part of Fiorentina coach Iachini's plans. He could be on his way out before the window closes on Friday evening.

Boateng is facing a huge competition for a place in the side. Fiorentina captured Patrick Cutrone from Wolves and the coach prefers both Dusan Vlahovic and Italian sensation Frederico Chiesa upfront.

Sassuolo were looking to get a deal for the Ghanaian over the line yesterday but Celta are now in the running to acquire his services.

Boateng has experience in La Liga, previously featuring for Barcelona and Las Palmas.
