Celtic manager Neil Lennon has expressed his delight following the signing of Ghanaian youngster Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old penned a four-year deal with the Scottish champions after passing his medical.

The versatile left-back who can also play as a left-sided midfielder has been in Man City's youth system for three years and was part of the side which reached the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy last season.

Frimpong was one of the 11 senior signings to arrive at Celtic this summer.

According to the manager, he is pleased with the club's transfer business.

"The close of the window has come and I'm very happy with the quality of the squad. We're very excited about the season now. We've got a great Europa League group and a lot of big games coming up domestically as well," Lennon said.

The highly-rated youngster is eligible to play for either Ghana or Netherlands in the future.
