EXCLUSIVE: Ghana winger Patrick Twumasi demoted to U23 team of Hannover 96

Published on: 01 February 2022

After failing to find suitors for Ghana winger Patrick Twumasi, Hannover 96 has demoted the player to its U-23 team.

The once highly-rated forward joined the German Bundesliga 2 outfit from Alaves in 2020 for a fee of 700,000 euros following an impressive stint in Turkey when he played for Gaziantep.

Although he started his spell with Hannover  96 quite well after recovering from a bad injury, several setbacks later meant that he lost his shape and struggled to cement a place in the first team.

This winter, officials of the German club who have become impatient tried to offload Patrick Twumasi by finding a new club for him.

Unfortunately, there were no interested suitors as the window closed last night.

Sources have exclusively reported that the player has lost the confidence of the technical team of the first team. As a result, he has been demoted to the U-23 team.

He must build himself up from that team before he could possibly earn a place in the first team.

Patrick Twumasi is currently on a 70,000 euros per month salary and would push to leave the club next summer.
