EXCLUSIVE: Issah Abass unable to mark FC Twente debut against FC Emmen due to work permit delay

Published on: 10 January 2021

Youngster Issah Abass could not mark his debut for FC Twente on Saturday evening when the team locked horns with FC Emmen as a result of a delay in the issuance of his work permit.

As reported by your most trusted online portal last week, the Ghanaian international has been signed by the Dutch Eredivisie club on loan for the rest of the season from German Bundesliga side Mainz 05.

Prior to yesterday’s match against FC Emmen, Issah Abass could not train with his new team due to the fact that the paperwork that allows him to work in the country is not ready.

In line with that, he could not make the FC Twente matchday squad and watched from the stands when the team defeated the opponent 4-1 at the end of the 90 minutes of the Eredivisie match.

Issah Abass, 22, is hoping to have his work permit ready by Monday in order to hit the ground running at the club.
