Exclusive: Zamalek to appeal CAS ruling in Benjamin Acheampong lawsuit

Published on: 18 December 2020

A source in Zamalek club has revealed the developments of the situation regarding Benjamin Acheampong, the former striker of the club's first football team.

Benjamin Acheampong won a ruling against Zamalek in recent hours due to the wrongful termination of his contract.

The source confirmed that the Zamalek administration now has one solution, which is resorting to the court and to provide evidence that the club's lawyer was absent from a court session.

The source indicated that Zamalek opened another line of negotiations with the player to solve the matter and persuade him to drop the complaint while scheduling to pay the rest of his financial dues with the club.

Acheampong played for Zamalek SC back in 2017 but never managed to cement his position in the starting eleven and was, therefore, sent on loan before terminating his contract.
