Medeama SC defender Vincent Atinga has confirmed his exit from the club after earlier reports on Monday morning.

The former Hearts of Oak talismanic centre-back released a statement to thank the club for his three years in Tarkwa.

He thanked the supporters and management of the club for the reception during his time.

“Thank you for the incredible memories and unwavering support,” the statement said.

The 29-year-old made his return to the Ghana Premier League in 2021, signing with Medeama after playing abroad. His overseas adventures included stints with KF Tirana in Albania and Kuwaiti clubs Qadsia SC and Al Shabab.

During his time with Medeama, Atinga showcased his scoring prowess, tallying an impressive 21 goals over three seasons while making 74 appearances for the team.

In the 2022-2023 campaign, Atinga continued to impress, netting 11 goals in 28 matches. His contributions were pivotal in Medeama's historic achievement as they clinched their first-ever Ghana Premier League title.

In recognition of his outstanding performances, Atinga was honoured with the prestigious 2022-23 Ghana Premier League Player of the Season award at an awards ceremony organized by the Ghana Football Association last Saturday.
