Fabio Coentrao Only Player in Real Madrid Squad Yet to Score This Season After Win Over Granada

Casemiro's goal inReal Madrid's 5-0 thrashing ofGranada on Saturday meant that 20 of the 21 outfieldplayers in the squad have now scored at least once this season.


This impressive stat came as Los Blancos equalled Barcelona's Spanish record of 39 consecutive games unbeaten.

FabioCoentrão is now the only player in the Real Madrid first team squad yet to score a goal this campaign.


Cristiano Ronaldo is unsurprisingly the club's top scorer with 17 goals, ahead of Karim Benzema (11) and Alvaro Morata (9). Gareth Bale has eight goals to his name, while Sergio Ramos is the top scoring defender with five goals.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has understandably been delighted with the quality of his side's attacking displays in recent weeks, although he has singled out the discipline of his players for praise.

"It's important for us to win games, but the manner in which we do it is significant too," he said after the weekend's win over Granada, quoted bySky Sports.


"People are enjoying themselves and the most important thing is that we're doing things well and taking it seriously. If you can do that, the fans have a good time and we do as well.


"Winning is the most important thing for me and for the players as well. It's crucial that in the build-up to the game everyone does all they can and are 100 percent committed. With the players we've got here, if we do that we can do great things and win a lot of games".
