Failed! Alexis Sanchez's Anti-Arsenal March in Chile Flops Despite 14,000 Proposed Attendees

Published on: 01 March 2017

For most football fans, the plight of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal has been questioned. The Chilean has been a one-man team at times for the Gunners this season, leading to many questioning whether he will remain in north London this summer

However, some took the arguments a tad too far, with people in his native Chile setting up a protest march on the streets of the capital Santiago in support of their beloved national hero leaving Arsene Wenger's side.

The event set up on Facebook was said to have 14,000 attendees but in the end, the tiniest fraction reared their heads.

14,000 people signed up for an anti-Arsenal protest in Chile, wanting Alexis Sanchez to leave the club.

Five people, yes five, turned up, proving once again that Facebook can be a dangerous medium for organising idiotic protests.

The people of Chile have widespread adoration for Sanchez, who is yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal, but to openly march against him playing for one Europe's top clubs was sheer lunacy.

At least for Wenger, he can finally sleep easy at night, safe in the knowledge that their won't be a Chilean Fan TV cropping up anytime soon.
