Fatawu Safiu scores but endures defeat with Trelleborgs FF at the hands of J Sodra

Ghanaian attacker Abdul Fatawu Safiu found the back of the net on Saturday afternoon but sadly ensured defeat with his Trelleborgs FF side at the hands of J Sodra in the Swedish Superettan League.

Poor organization in defense saw Trelleborgs going down by a goal as early as the second minute when Jakob Orlov fired the visitors in front.

Later in the first half, former Kotoko striker Fatau Safiu scored with a cheeky effort when his chipped shot entered the back of the net to restore parity for his side following a sleek counter-attacking play.

Now in the driving seat, the host went on to take a 2-1 lead with a few minutes to go into the break when Sebastien Ohlsson fired home a good shot.

Trelleborgs could however not build on that goal and allowed J Sodra to take control of the game. The side made it 2-2 on the 64th minute with Edin Hamidovic finding the back of the net this time around.

Alexander Jallow scored the winning goal for the away side on the 73rd minute to earn his side all 3 points.

Though Abdul Fatawu Safiu enjoyed a good game, his efforts on top of his classy goal did not matter at the end of the matchday exercise.

The former Porcupine Warrior now has 3 goals in the ongoing season and looks likely to score some more as the campaign progresses.
