FC Metz defender John Boye set to miss Bordeaux clash due to injury

Ghanaian defender John Boye is set to face a spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury.

The injury is likely to rule him out of FC Metz's clash against Bordeaux in the French Ligue 1 next Saturday.

The 32-year-old has been an influential figure for the Maroons since joining them as a free agent from Turkish side Sivasspor.

Boye put an impressive display for FC Metz in their 2-0 defeat to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain at home before the international break.

He lasted the entire duration of the game.

It is believed Boye had picked up an injury during the game as he was unable to feature in their friendly game against Karlsruhe on Thursday.

According to the side’s head coach Vincent Hognon, the Ghana international has been carrying a foot injury for a while.

"He has a sore foot for a while," said manager Vincent Hognon. He played against PSG with."
