Felix Afena-Gyan opts against blaming 'hasty' move to Cremonese for struggles

Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has opted not to attribute his challenging season at U.S Cremonese to his purported hasty transfer from AS Roma.

Despite a difficult phase, the 20-year-old considers it as one of life's trials and does not hold his transfer responsible for the struggles he faced during the 2022/2023 season.

During an interview with Sports Obama on YouTube, Afena-Gyan acknowledged that he faced a "very, very tough" season.

When questioned about whether his transfer played a role in his struggles, the talented striker responded, "I wouldn't say that (moving from Roma), but you know in life, things happen like this, so I guess it's one of them."

Throughout the season, Afena-Gyan made 23 appearances for Cremonese but failed to find the back of the net.

It is worth noting that over 80 percent of these appearances were as a substitute.

Unfortunately, the disappointing performances did not earn him a call-up to the national team, the Black Stars, following his move to Cremonese.

He earned his maided call ups while at Roma.
