Fernandinho has never played at the San Paolo, but expects a cauldron of noise.

“We don't have atmospheres like this in the Premier League so it will be the first time for some guys, and I hope it doesn't make a difference for us," he said, before warning young teammates Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

“On the pitch we need to be calm. concentrate on our job, and try to win the game.

“Most of our young players don't know how it is, especially when you go to South America, where you have to go away to Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

“They try to do everything to disturb you, but I hope our team can be 100 per cent focussed and it doesn't make any difference on the pitch.

“The worst I have known? Probably Uruguay … or Argentina – I played there in the Copa Libertadores, and they just did everything you can imagine."

He added, with a big grin: “They threw things and it was a little bit of a shambles ..."
