The Ghanaian club has been given up to next month to fully pay their debt or the action to send the side into the lower division will take place.

In line with that order, the management of the Porcupine Warriors have just 18 days to raise the funds and sort out their debt with the Tunisians.

In an interview with Nhyira FM today Esperance vice-president Walid Arem has confirmed that Kotoko has been served the letter by FIFA which orders them to pay $180,000 for the signing of Emmanuel Clottey.

"Kotoko have received a letter from FIFA which orders them to pay us $180,000 for the wrongful signing of Emmanuel Clottey.

"We don't owe them but rather they owe us $30,000 and they have to settle us before the date stated in the letter from FIFA”, he said.

He added, "We bought Kwame Bonsu for $150,000 and they also owe us $180,000. We need the money badly, so we're waiting for it.''

Having decided not to settle the transfer of Kwame Bonsu, Kotoko can opt to deduct that amount from the $180,000 and only pay $30,000.
