The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has ordered Asante Kotoko to pay a whopping $240,000.00 for the delay in the payment of the transfer fee of Emmanuel Clottey from Esperance de Tunis.

FIFA last month ruled that the Ghana Premier League giants should pay the transfer fee of the striker which is $180,000 to the Tunisia giants or risk facing a penalty.

After failing to pay the money in the given time, FIFA has brought out a final verdict ordering Kotoko to pay extra money.

The $240,000.00 being demanded from Asante Kotoko will settle the debt owed Esperance, cover a penalty, and also pay the lawyers who sat on the case.

According to a report by Light FM,  FIFA has highlighted 3 major cash component to be paid by the Porcupines within a month or face demotion from the Ghanaian top-flight league:

“FIFA is demanding Kotoko to make full payment of the $180,000.00 cash amount involved in the deal as at that time.

“They have instructed Kotoko to pay an interest of $45,000.00 for the delay of the payment to Esperance de Tunis.

“Ordering the Fabulous club to pay the committee which sat on the case as at that time till now $15,000.00 totaling the figures of the money to $240,000.00”.

If Kotoko refuses to pay the money before May 10, 2020, they will be relegated into the Division One League.
