FINALLY: Felix Annan extends contract with Asante Kotoko; pens new 3-year deal

Following fears of Felix Annan leaving Kotoko as a free agent at the end of the year, the player has today signed a new 3-year contract extension with the Ghana Premier League giant.

News of the Reds possibly losing their safest pair of hands at the end of his initial contract spread like wildfire at the beginning of this month.

After trying to offer him a new contract, the player refused to sign while asking for an improved salary to make him one of the highest earners at the club.

Following weeks of negotiations, both parties have reached an agreement that has now seen Annan putting pen on paper to sign an additional 3-year contract that is expected to expire in 2022.

“I am delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with the club. My heart belongs here and so it was not a difficult decision choosing to extend my stay”, Felix Annan said in an interview on the Kotoko Express App after the deal was signed.

The Black Stars goalies added, “I am the captain of the club and so has a mission which I have not accomplished. I neither wished to leave the club nor made any exorbitant demands. I am happy here wants to remain here to accomplish the mission that I have set for myself”.

Annan has already won three Ghana Premier League titles as well as two FA Cups with Kotoko in the 8 years he has been with club.
