Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini has heaped praise on Ghana international Alfred Duncan following his impressive performance on his debut for the club as they thrashed Sampdoria 5-1 in the Serie A on Sunday.

The 26-year-old made his debut for the club following his move from Sassuolo in the winter transfer window.

He was one of the brightest spot for the visitors as he lasted for 71 minutes before he was replaced by Marco Benassi after being booked for an offence.

Duncan, who arrived at the club with an injury he sustained in Sassuolo's 2-1 defeat to Genoa impressed his manager on his first outing for the club.

"He’s a boy I know, I knew what he can give us," Beppe Iachini said

"He has the right skill and he knows how to shoot. He started the game but this shouldn’t be seen as a rejection for Marco Benassi or Erick Pulgar."

The Ghanaian completed a €15m switch to Fiorentina on the transfer deadline day, bringing an end to his four-year stay with the Neroverdi.

He made 13 appearances for US Sassuolo, scored one goal and provided five assists in all competitions this term.
