Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk wants to move to Chelsea.

The Telegraph says the Dutchman would favour a summer move to Chelsea over Liverpool this summer.

The Blues have opened negotiations in private with Van Dijk's camp and Antonio Conte is eager to get the deal done.

It is said that any transfer would exceed the £50m that Paris St-Germain paid Chelsea for David Luiz in 2014.

That fee is still the world record for a defender but Van Dijk could smash it when the transfer window reopens.
