Former Asante Kotoko captain, Joe Hendricks, has recently made the United Kingdom his new home and found satisfaction in a career shift as a truck driver.

Hendricks is the latest addition to the roster of former Asante Kotoko players, including Mark Adu Amfofah, Kwame Obeng Darko, and Nana Arhin Duah, who have chosen to settle abroad post-retirement from football.

Having made the move to the UK several months ago, the 48-year-old former Ghanaian international is clearly enthusiastic about his new profession. He expressed that he has not only embraced his role but has also become proficient in it.

In a video shared on social media, Hendricks, affectionately known as 'Oreba,' mentioned his intention to send financial support back home, albeit noting it might take some time.

He also commended Ghanaians who have resided abroad for more than two decades, emphasizing their commendable achievements. Furthermore, he humorously highlighted his newfound expertise in box packaging.

Hendricks embarked on his football journey with Sekondi Eleven Wise before transitioning to Asante Kotoko in 1999.

He went on to be named captain of the Porcupine Warriors after a few years, before eventually departing the club in 2005.
