All football leagues have been suspended due to coronavirus since mid-March as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.

The football fraternity has been affected severely as clubs have suspended camps until further notice, but are still expected to pay their players, coaches, and other workers.

Mohammed believes that to make the local league attractive, the government must support clubs by at least paying salaries of players.

"If you go to Ethiopia, it’s the government who takes care of everything, so the moment the government takes care of the league, then you don’t have problem," he told Joy Sports.

"Not only in Ethiopia, In Saudi (Arabia) Kuwait, they have good sponsors then the government also pays the salaries of players.

"So that’s why we are facing problem here in Ghana…Only salaries for players, then I think the league will be attractive," he concluded.
