Former Black Queens player Gloria “Beley Beley” Oforiwaa has died at the age of 36 after battling with illness.

The attacker was part of the Black Queens team that first qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 1999.

The former Black Queens striker was confirmed dead in Accra on Saturday evening.

The Policewoman played local football for Ghatel ladies and Police Ladies, her death shook the football fraternity.

Gloria Oforiwaa also represented the country at the 2003 and 2007 World Cups and has four Africa Women’s Championships appearances.
