Over 100 football coaches have applied for the vacant Chipolopolo coaching position, including former Black Stars coach Avram Grant.

From November 2014 until February 2017, the 67-year-old Israeli coach supervised the Black Stars to play 27 games, winning 12, drawing eight, and losing seven.

On 2 February 2017, Coach Avram Grant resigned as the coach of Ghana after finishing fourth in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, losing against Cameroon in the semi-final and Burkina Faso in the third place play-off.

His most recent position was as a temporary coach at North East United in the Indian Super League, where he managed two wins, a tie, and 14 losses in 17 matches.

Grant began his coaching career in Israel in 1986 with Hapoel Petah Tikva and has worked with clubs like as Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Israel national team, Portsmouth, West Ham United, and Chelsea, among others.

The Zambian coaching position fell vacant following Aljosa Asanovic’s resignation over a month ago.
