Otto Addo, a former Black Stars coach, was honored by the citizens of Bubiashie during the Christmas festivities.

The Otto Addo Fan Club presented Addo with a plaque in recognition of his achievement in getting Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup while he was in Ghana for the December celebrations.

On the final day of the year 2022, he participated in a health walk. Otto Addo, who was raised in Bubiashie before relocating to Germany, was a part of the Ghanaian team that went to the 2006 FIFA World Cup for the first time.

Otto Addo visited Bubiashie in April last year after guiding the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup on the away goal rule at the expense of their regional rivals Nigeria.

Scores of people who were happy and ecstatic thronged onto the street to welcome one of their own.

Otto Addo resigned as Black Stars coach after Ghana's final game against Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup.
