Former Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah joins Nepal Super League club Chitwan

Former Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has completed a move to Nepal Super League outfit Chitwan, Footballghana.com can confirm.

Acquah joined Chitwan on a free transfer after passing his mandatory medical and is expected to play a valuable role for the club.

The former Ghana midfielder has been without a club after ending his stay with Iraqi club Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in July 2023.

He moved to Iraq in January this year after leaving Al-Batin FC, where he played 8 matches in the Saudi Pro League.

Acquah has featured for a host of clubs abroad after departing Ghana for greener pastures.

He has had spells with Italian clubs, AC Parma, Torino, Empoli, and Palermo. Acquah also featured for German club Hoffenheim and also in the Turkish Super Lig.

He played for Yeni Malatyaspor, where he made 65 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Acquah made 42 appearances for the Black Stars scoring just a goal since his debut on March 1, 2012. His only goal for the national team came against Malawi during the 2012 AFCON qualifiers.
