Former Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena to be buried on Friday

Former Ghana international Raphael Dwamena will be buried on Friday, February 16, 2024.

The former Black Stars striker, who passed on last year will be laid in state on Friday at the Adjiringano Astro Turf in Accra. The funeral will follow immediately after his private burial.

Dwamena sadly died in November 2023 after collapsing whiles in action for KF Egnatia against KF Partizani in the Albanian top-flight.

The former Levante, FC Zurich,, and Real Zaragoza striker died at the age of 28.

The tragic incident happened after he collapsed in the 23rd minute of the game and had to be rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Dwamena's career suffered various setbacks after he was first detected to have a heart problem in 2017.

The lanky forward has been playing with a heart detector since collapsing in two games during his time in Austria.

Dwamena scored on his debut for Ghana in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in 2017.

He was the Albanian league leading scorer before his unfortunate demise.
