Former Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena to be laid to rest today

Former Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena, who tragically passed away after collapsing on the football pitch in Albia will be laid to rest on Friday, February 16, 2024.

His funeral service will take place at the Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

The Ghana Football Association has graciously offered assistance to the family in organizing the funeral rites for the late national star.

Dwamena, 28, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after collapsing on the football pitch while in action for KF Egnatia against KF Partizani in the Albanian top-flight.

The forward lasted collapsed on the 23rd minute and lost his life despite immediate medical attention.

He made 9 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana since making his debut in 2017 and scored two goals in the process.

Dwamena's career suffered various setbacks after he was first detected to have a heart problem in 2017.

He featured for a host of clubs, including FC Zurich, Levante, Real Zaragoza and others.
