Former Chelsea Star Named as 'Most Successful' Premier League Footballer of All Time

Published on: 15 December 2016

Former Chelsea star Arjen Robben has the best win percentage rate out of any Premier League footballer, according tothe Mirror.

The 32-year-old joined Chelsea back in 2004 and spent three years at the club, winning the Premier League twice, as well as two League Cup triumphs and an FA Cup win. Jose Mourinho's first spell at Chelsea was nothing short of impressive, with the 'Special One' making a raft of greatsignings during his window in charge, and then winning the Premier League in his first season with the southwest London side.

It appears that Robben's influence over the team made him one of its most important players, with the Dutchman recording wins in 82.1% of his 67 Premier Leaguegames for Chelsea.

The whole list has a heavy Chelsea influence, with former Blues defender Paolo Ferreira coming in second with 72.3%, while defensive midfielder Claude Makelele was also evidently a crucial part of Mourinho's side, placing third with 70.8%.

The highest ranking non-Chelsea player is former Manchester United defenderNemanja Vidic, but the Blues theme continues in the form of Michael Ballack and Ricardo Carvalho.

However, the list is not exactly indicative of great players, with former Manchester City midfielder Javi Garciacoming in at seventh position, with a win ratio of 69.8%. Did we all miss something with the Spaniard? Did all of his supposedly impressive work at City go unnoticed?

Former Arsenal midfielder Edu racked up 55 wins in 79 league appearances for the Gunners and earns a spot on the list, while Patrice Evra also sneaks inside the top 10 thanks to his years of service to United.

The only player on the listcurrently plying their trade in the Premier League is Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, whose time with Leicester last seasonand impressive start to life with Chelsea this yearhas seen him identified as a player with an impressive win ratio. The France international could have won two consecutive Premier League titles come the end of the season, such is Chelsea's current form.
