Abdul Jalilu, a former defender for Dreams FC, has revealed his decision to join Mukura Sport Vision FC in Rwanda.

The move is driven by his desire to change his environment and experience new challenges.

Jalilu also revealed that he had discussions with several clubs in Rwanda. However, he ultimately decided to follow his heart and commit to Mukura.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian defender played a key role in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season, where his former team, Dreams FC, secured a respectable ninth position in the 18-team league competition.

"I talked to many teams in Rwanda but I followed my heart and that’s why I chose Mukura. I was born and raised in Ghana. I decided to come to Rwanda because sometimes it’s good when you change your environment” he said as reported by IGIHE Sports.

Abdul Jalilu was a key player in Dreams FC's impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup, where the team reached the semifinals in their debut campaign. Despite a courageous effort, Dreams FC was defeated by Egyptian giants Zamalek.

Throughout the season, Abdul Jalilu featured in 27 league games, scoring one goal, and made 11 appearances in the Confederation Cup, where he also scored a goal.

Abdul Jalilu is expected to help strengthen the backline of Mukura Sport Victory FC next season.

Mukura Sport Victory FC ended the 2023/24 Rwandan Premier League season in 4th place with 47 points after 30 games.
