Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah in full support of J.A Kuffour Cup

Former Ghana international Stephen Appiah has thrown his weight behind the J.A Kufuor Cup is scheduled for Sunday, February 18, 2024.

The former Juventus star, who is the ambassador for the J.A Kufuor Cup has expressed his readiness to contribute towards the success of the event.

The game, which will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium will see Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC battle it out for the trophy.

In an audio aired on Kessben FM and monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Fenerbache star expressed gratitude to the former president for his unwavering during his reign as captain of the Black Stars.

He has therefore vowed to repay the former Ghana leader for the support during his his playing days.

“We all know who J. A Kufuor is, when I was the captain of the national team, he was the president. He showed us so much love and respect so anything that he does in terms of football or in any field and I’m called to support, I can’t say no because he has been there for some of us. I’m happy to be the ambassador for J. A Kufuor Cup,” he said.

Appiah played a huge role when the Black Stars secured their first-ever World Cup qualification in 2006.
