Former Ghana youth star Eric Ayiah eyes more goals for CD Trofense

Former Ghana youth star Eric Ayiah netted his debut goal for CD Trofense in their defeat against Sanjoanense over the weekend.

Ayiah scored one of his sides consolation goals as they succumbed to a 3-2 away defeat to Sanjoanense in the week 10 of the Portuguese third-tier league.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

The former Ghana youth star broke the deadlock for the visitors from the spot seven minutes into the second half of the game.

Portugal international Bernardo Fontes scored to draw Sanjoanense level in the 69th minute mark before Pedro Martins scored to put the home team in front in the 82nd minute.

Trofense fought back to draw level through Nuno Jorge Pereira da Silva Valente in the 86th minute but Sanjoanense proved their worth after grabbing the match winner in added time through Daniel Santos.

After the game, Ayiah took to social media to express his joy after scoring his debut goal for the club whiles he set sights on bagging in more goals for the club.

“Determination always leads to success. Together as a team as always and will always be. First of many goals to come” he wrote on X.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian forward has now scored one goal in three games for Trofense in the Portuguese third-tier.

Ayiah joined Trofense in October 2023, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
