Former Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has expressed disappointment following Dreams FC’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Still Believe lads defied all odds to reach the semifinals of their maiden participation in the Confederation Cup campaign.

Dreams FC were on the brink of making history, but things fell apart after succumbing to a heavy defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to Zamalek.

The Ghana FA Cup holders went into the return leg with the advantage after holding the Egyptian powerhouse to a pulsating goalless draw in the first leg played at the Cairo International Stadium.

But the Ghanaian outfits hopes of reaching the finals dashed after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.

“I’m very disappointed because I was expecting Dreams FC to reach the finals of the competition. Even though they didn’t get to the finals but we need to praise them for reaching the semifinals of this competition”

“They shouldn’t be discouraged. Ghanaians are proud of them for their effort because nobody gave them the chance to reach the semifinals. They should keep working hard and I know they can reach the finals if they get the opportunity to represent Ghana next season”

Dreams FC will now switch their attention to the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup, where they have reached the semi-final. The FA Cup holders could return to Africa if they successfully defend their title.
